Around 140 people lose their lives at the UK and Irish waters each year, and over half never even planned to enter the water. It's important you know what to do in an emergency so you can help without putting yourself in danger. There are two simple skills you should know that could save a life:
If you find yourself in difficulty in the water, float to increase your chances of survival.
If you see someone else in trouble in the water, call 999 or 112 and ask for the Coastguard.
The Boots & Beards Community Hub is a space open for individuals in our community to come together and create, develop and learn more about the great outdoors and physical activity initiatives (with a focus on ethnic minority communities and those from most disadvantaged communities). The Community Hub can be a starting point for community members to learn how to get involved in a myriad of activities involving the outdoors in order for them to live more positive and healthier lifestyles.
Our home on Scotland Street is a thriving charity hub offering high-quality, affordable meeting spaces along with office office hot desking for Scottish charities and individuals. Located in a prime spot within Glasgow - just off the M77 and M74 with close proximity to two key underground stations (Shields Road and West Street - 3-5 minutes walking distance).
With on-site parking for up to 25 vehicles, the Boots & Beards community hub is a safe, convenient, culturally sensitive and modern venue.
We currently have two desks available for hire at a cost of approximately £175 per month excl. VAT. This comprises of a simple desk rental agreement (£110 per month exc VAT) and service charges (estimated at £65 per month, based on actual costs each quarter).
