Boots & Beards (B&B) are the first BME organisation in Scotland to hold a Duke of Edinburgh licence (DofE).

What is DofE

Through a DofE programme young people have fun, make friends, improve their self-esteem and build confidence. They gain essential skills and attributes for work/life such as resilience, problem-solving, team-working, communication and drive. These transferable skills are used to enhance their CV, university and job applications. Top employers recognise the work-ready skills award holders bring to their business.

Role

B&B are looking for two operations officers to help drive business forward. The postholder will support the promotion of B&B DofE programme across Glasgow.

Responsibilities

·    Promote the B&B DofE programme to schools and young people organisations across Glasgow.

·    Approach potential local business sponsors and key community figures to provide financial support to the DofE programme.

·    Assist with marketing and promotion of the B&B DofE programme on social media, radio, newspapers, local magazines and other platforms.

·    Recruit and sign up new members to the B&B DofE programme.

·    B&B will provide promotional material and support you in your endeavours.

Personal Skills and abilities

·    Professional communication manner in person, writing and over the phone.

·    Organised, punctual and committed.

·    Demonstrate creativity, drive and enthusiasm.

·    Ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels in the workplace.

·    Demonstrate excellent oral presentation/pitching/sales skills to small groups or individuals.

·    Willingness to travel (reimbursement of travel expenses).
